If you have too much work to do, it may be difficult to figure out where to start or to remember every task. With Task Coach, you can organize your working schedule in a logical manner, prioritize your tasks, track your effort and much more. The program allows you to group your tasks and organize them in separate projects, which makes it quite easy to find specific items. In addition, Task Coach places numerous customization controls at your disposal, which you can use to make each task unique or to associate them with other elements, so you will always know what is your next step and how to prepare for it, regardless of the project's complexity.

The user interface consists of two panels, on which you may create tasks and categories. Although the categories don't act as repositories or filters for the created tasks, they are still helpful when it comes to spotting specific tasks. All tasks are displayed in the same list, but the way you customize the appearance of a category will reflect on its corresponding tasks. In other words, if you associate a task with a category, the task will appear with the same colors and icon as its category. Furthermore, the software allows you to create sub-tasks as well, so you can group your tasks, besides categorizing them.

New tasks and categories can be defined on separate windows. When creating a category, you can type in a subject and a description, add personal notes, attach files and customize its appearance. The software places a wider range of controls at your disposal when it comes to creating tasks. Besides typing a subject and a description, you can also specify a priority level, plan the task's start and due dates and set up reminders, define a budget, select other tasks as prerequisites and much more. Also, a task's editing window is where you can assign it to a category, by simply selecting one.

The effort tracking feature can be started and stopped for selected tasks, by clicking the appropriate options, located on a toolbar. You can also find options for marking tasks as active, inactive or complete. If the tasks list is too long, you can use a search function to locate specific items instantly.

Pros

You can organize your tasks in a logical manner. Tasks can be prioritized, grouped and categorized. Also, the software can track your effort and it allows you to set up reminders.

Cons

There are no obvious drawbacks to mention. With Task Coach, complex projects can be broken down into well organized and prioritized tasks without any kind of difficulty.
